Strahler – South Tyrolean Pinot Blanc

SOUTH TYROLEAN PINOT BLANC

Two plots of land in the STROBLHOF and SATTEL estates with a total area of 12,500 m². The estates are situated 450-520 metres above sea level in the municipality of San Michele/St. Michael, near Appiano/Eppan.

TYPE OF SOIL

Red clay mixed with porphyry and limestone on one side, calcareous gravel deposits on the other.

GRAPE VARIETY

The Strahler is a grape mixture with a long tradition in the area of Appiano/Eppan and at the Stroblhof in particular, although it has now become less common. The 2017 vintage is made up of 90% Pinot blanc, 5% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot gris.
